I've been here a few times with the family. A little hidden off Lindsay close to Backyard Taco. The inside is really fun with the bar in the center and two open dining areas- one in a semicircle around the bar and another room with a festively decorated tree and a vaulted ceiling. Once the weather is better I'd love to dine on their patio. Their menu has changed a few times but their unique black rice is back. All their sushi uses the black rice. It's a tad grainier than white rice but healthier. We got a yam roll and volcano shrimp and both great. I also got the yakisoba and it was in a large bowl and excellent. Wait staff is good and friendly. Only downside is their non-sushi offerings are very limited right now. They only have a couple of chicken and beef dishes.

This is our "go to" sushi place! Have to be honest though. The last time we were here was several months ago, after the original owner sold it. The sushi wasn't as good and they also discontinued the "black rice". We came back a month or so later, and the sushi was still mediocre. The service also declined a bit. Food taking longer to get and servers not as attentive. They also had female bartender, tending the bar who was extremely cold. To say the least, it was disappointing. We came in tonight, and sadly, the place was not as busy, especially for a Thursday HH. The good news is that they brought the "black rice" back on the menu. More importantly though, tonight the sushi was VERY good, back to the quality it was prior to the change of ownership. The service was just as good! So, if you gave up on Kodo, do yourself a favor and give it another shot! You won't be disappointed. Cheers!

We've been coming here for quite a while especially since they have delicious food with easy and convenient parking, lots of seating, servers and sushi chefs! Kodo has great quality! They were crazy crazy crazy busy tonight for some reason. Maybe they were a little short handed but there seemed to be plenty of people craving sushi tonight! Once we got seated we waited a bit then were able to order drinks then another wait til we could order food. It was obvious they weren't expecting so many people to come in tonight. Some people got a little impatient but once the waitlist was cleared things calmed down a bit. As always, everything was freshly made and delicious. We got chicken karaage wings, edamame, unagi nigiri, salmon nigiri, beef roll, rainbow roll and mirage roll plus a Sapporo and an Asahi beer. Our orders came out fast and they checked on us regularly. They have pretty decor and outside seating for nicer weather. Everyone seemed quite happy with their orders and all of the staff were busy! They thanked us as we left (as they always do). It's so nice to have a reasonably priced dine in sushi restaurant in the neighborhood! Please pay them a visit and support this locally owned family style restaurant for a good meal! P.s. Even if they're busy and there's a wait, please support all of the small locally owned restaurants like Kodo. They are doing their best to serve us all!

I was craving some sushi and decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I ordered the sashimi lunch box which was delicious. I asked the waiter if I can substitute the tuna for toro. It was a $4 charge but well worth it. The sashimi was fresh and so was the nigiri. I also tried the seared toro and salmon nigiri that was on the house from the chef! Thanks chef, it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back to order more of the seared nigiri.

I really liked Kodo! All the food was delicious and the service was quick. We got the salmon.com which was a combo of salmon nigiri and rolls. We also got an order of the H3 roll and some fried rice. All the sushi was delicious and the fried rice was decent. We also shared some sake, and at one point the owner stopped by and noticed the same carafe was empty. He told the server we needed more sake and got us an order on the house! He was really funny too. All in all, great place and we will definitely be back for future sushi nights!
